The 2014 BlizzCon Costume Contest sign-up is now open until July 15. All entries must be received before the deadline and meet the requirements in the official rules. Visit the Contest Page to submit your application after reading over all the rules.
- must be not be wider than 4 feet across, longer than 6 feet, nor taller than 8 feet; additionally, the entrant must be able to easily maneuver their costume over stairs or ramps unassisted.
- cannot include, or otherwise utilize, any edged weapons (such as knives, daggers, swords), firearms of any kind including air guns, long bows, crossbows, or any other type of projectile weapon regardless of whether it is unloaded or nonfunctional; ‘actual’ clubs, maces, or other ‘crushing weapons.’ Acceptable costume ‘weapon props’ will be limited to air filled or soft plastic swords, daggers, maces or clubs, and wooden staves that are not shod with metal;
- may not include liquids, gels, or other substances which could cause a mess in Sponsor’s sole discretion;
- should not materially be the same costume that a qualified entrant used to enter previous BlizzCon Costume contests. A new costume re-creating the same character that has been enhanced from a previous version may be considered.
First Place Winner. One (1) qualified entrant will be chosen by Sponsor as the “First Place Winner,” and will receive an option to receive: (i) Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00 USD) at the Event, and a ‘tribute’ to the First Place Winner in an upcoming Blizzard product, as determined by Blizzard in its sole discretion, that could include, but would not necessarily be limited to, taking the form of having a NPC, weapon, etc., named after the First Place Winner,; or (ii) the First Place Winner can choose to receive Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00 USD).
Second Place Winner. One (1) qualified entrant will be chosen by Sponsor as the “Second Place Winner,” to receive Two Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($2,250.00 USD).
Third Place Winner. One (1) qualified entrant will be chosen by Sponsor as the “Third Place Winner,” and will receive One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00 USD).
Fourth Place Winner. One (1) qualified entrant will be chosen by Sponsor as the “Fourth Place Winner,” and will receive One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00 USD).
Secondary Winners. Eight (8) qualified entrants will be chosen by Sponsor as the “Secondary Winners,” and will receive Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00 USD).
